If you are looking to become certified in equine kinesiology taping, you will need to take the Foundational Masterclass. It is Level 1 of the certification classes, and you can then progress to the Advanced Masterclass.
The Foundational Masterclass teaches anatomy, physiology, taping techniques, and more.
Taking the class alone does not certify you. You will need to submit written case studies and pass a written exam with a 90% or better score.
The applications for the case studies are assigned specifically to each category in the class. You will complete a case study on a muscle, on a joint in the leg, one on the spine, and so on through the entire class.
The ten case studies should be completed on ten different horses.
Each case study should be submitted in SOAP note format.
S: Subjective - age, breed, discipline, medical history, performance history
O: Objective - static and dynamic evaluation and findings
A: Assessment - response to treatment, progress noted, considerations for next treatment
P: Plan - protocols planned and instructions given to owner
The test is written in essay format to respond to 30 questions covered in the class.
Once submitted, you must score 90% or better to receive certification.
The certification is approved by the International Association of Animal Massage Board (IAAMB) and is an internationally recognized certification.
Full details and directions for certification are given once certification is purchased.
